The Tenderloin Opera Company creates original music and theatrical material by, for and with people who are homeless, homeless advocates, and the Brown University community through weekly sessions at the Mathewson Street Church, in cooperation with the Speaker's Bureau and the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless.

Join us for our latest round of songs, stories and poems, as we move towards the development of a new opera to be presented in the spring.

Come for the entertainment, or with questions about how to share in the work of TOC or Speaker's Bureau. Always cookies, always under an hour, always free. Any donations will go to the support of the Speakers' Bureau.

Mercy Brown and the Devil's Footprint

Is the Brown family being torn asunder by a plague of tuberculosis or by the evil thirst of a vampire? In an interstate chase, can a Native American woman elude the Devil's grasp? Find out in Awesome Collective's Mercy Brown and the Devil's Footprint, a traveling multimedia performance that intertwines and explores these two mysterious and New England-based folktales using theatre, live music, dance, animation and puppetry.
